Faux Tile Technique

I attempted the faux tile technique yesterday and I have to say, I HATE this card.   I had an image in my head of what I wanted it to look like and this was so NOT it.  :(    I loved Awash with Flowers in the catalog, but it is one of those stamp sets that gets the better of me every time.   I keep trying, but I can't get a card that I like with it.

Stamps: Punch Bunch (SAB 2011), Awash with Flowers
Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Concord Crush, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Concord Crush Ribbon
Tools, etc: Scallop Circle punch, clear embossing powder, heat tool

Sale-a-bration Class/Workshop

(inspired by Laurie)

(inspired by Barb)

(Not my original idea, but it has been recreated so many times that I'm not sure who to credit for the original?)

Here are the 3 cards we are making tomorrow at a Sale-a-bration workshop/class.   The ladies asked for techniques, so I focused on the different looks that can be done with the Stampin' Up! sponges and ink pads.    I love all of them and I hope they will as well.

TLC 307: Mojo Motivator

This time of year is a pretty difficult time for me, so I have been in a bit of a funk with everything.   I finally got myself in my room and made a card today and it did make me feel a little better.   This is for the Try a New Technique Challenge over on Splitcoast this week.   It was titled Mojo Motivator since so many of us stampers seem to be struggling to find our stamping mojo.   :)    For the challenge you had a to pick 3 things from last year's challenges:   a technique, a color combination, and a sketch.    I used paper piercing, Blushing Bride/Riding Hood Red/Early Espresso color combo, and sketch 312.

Stamps:  Valentine Defined
Paper:   Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Ink:  Blushing Bride, Early Espresso (marker), and Cherry Cobbler because I didn't have the RHR marker
Accessories:  brads, mat pack, paper pierce, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder

Time for the Red & Pink

I was a bit tired of Christmas cards, so this week I finally got to pull out my new products from the 2011 Occasions Mini Catalog!   I paired my new products with the sketch from Mojo Monday and here was what I came up with.  I had been wanting to try the emboss resist technique FOREVER and finally did it!    Now if I can only learn to tie a bow!

Stamps: Valentine Defined
Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Love Patterns DSP
Ink: Real Red, Pretty in Pink
Other: Pretty in Pink 1/8" taffeta ribbon, white embossing powder
Tools: Modern Label punch, brayer, embossing tool

Christmas, Christmas

Here are a couple of cards that I made this week.   I don't love either of them, but it did feel good to get back in my room and stamp.   I was a bit let down from the results of my craft fair, so I took some time off to feel sorry for myself and mope around the house.   I finally shed the negative attitude this week and straightened up my room and stamped.    Hopefully my mojo will come back soon and I can be making cards that I actually LOVE again.    :)

Guess who got a new toy?

I was going to buy myself My Digital Studio for my birthday, but thankfully Stampin' Up! had a Thanksgiving sale and I snagged it for 50% off then!   I was so excited when it got here this week and spent the whole day making a calendar for my brother.   I took so many pictures of his dogs while we were together in October and it was great to turn them into a gift for him.    Do you think he'll like it?   I know I do and they aren't even my pets!

Decor Elements....take three!

Here is another take on making Christmas decorations with the Decor Elements.   I purchased a small shadowbox from IKEA, added a DE, some designer paper, bells, and a bit of ribbon!   It took me less than 20 minutes and I think it is awesome!

More Craft Fair stuff...

Here is my collection of the Hershey pull candy.   I think they make adorable stocking stuffers!    I had a blast making all of them; I think I did 14 in all.
