Curses!

Whew.  This card...I don't even know what to say about it.  I had quite a bit of time to stamp yesterday and I fought with this one card for the entire time and got back up this morning still not happy with it.  I figured I'd post it anyway because we all make some bad ones every now and then, right?  lol   I loved the Sweet Sunday Sketch this week and wanted to play along.  Too bad my mojo didn't.  Ha!  We'll blame it on the moon.  Yeah, totally the moon's fault.

I mentioned I'd been trying to mail out most of my cards.   Life gets in the way of course and they end up late a lot.   I thought this sentiment would be perfect for a belated birthday card.

My two loves.   Jason is enjoying his guitar and I'm so happy about that.  He needed a hobby or interest terribly bad and I'm glad he finally showed interest in something.  :o)

Happy Bokeh

I've been wanting to try this cool technique I saw over on the wPlus9 blog for a while and finally took a bit of time to play yesterday.  It is so cool!!!!!  And easy too! Here's the link with the video of how to do it.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder, and Elegant Eggplant for my background and then Whisper White craft ink for the circles.   I made this to enter into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

She had so much fun at the little playground over near the ducks the other day.  She was very brave and climbed and was sliding so much better than before.

Stampin' Up! Wonderfall

I got to stamp a bit more last night while Jason did bedtime.   I managed to even finish a card, which was nice.  :)   I played along with my buddies over at Fab Friday.  I love the sketch they have going right now!   I couldn't resist using Wonderfall again and grabbed some of my favorite paper to go with it.  Pool Party and Early Espresso are two of my favorite colors, so I love pairing them together for Fall projects.

We had the best little family outing this morning and I am tired!   We went to a subdivision that has some lakes and ducks and walked around for two hours.  It was so fun (and hot).   Laila loved it and we came home with some pine cones, duck feathers, and cool leaves to study.

MFT Blues

Man!  It's been a few days since I stamped and I was sure missing it.   It's been a busy few days, but I found a little time to go in and play along with the new sketch at MFT.   I went with blues, Soft Sky, Pool Party, and Island Indigo and left it pretty simple.

Isn't that a great sketch?  I already pinned it so I can use it again.   My Pinterest board of sketches is a fabulous resource for me when I'm stuck!

My little shopper.  lol   We had the best day yesterday.   I woke up to find I won a stamp set from the Winnie & Walter release, so that started my day off wonderfully.  I also got a bit of news I'll share later that made me super excited.  And then Laila was really good most of the day.   We went shopping, had coffee and pumpkin bread, and took a nap after we did our daily cleaning.   Today has been a bit more challenging, but we are adjusting to Jason being home.   He's been a bit grumpy because our car broke and is in the shop, but at least it's fixable, right?  Off to find dinner...

Stampin' Up! Wonderfall

It's still hot here, but I decided to turn on the cooler weather in my cardmaking this week.  It's Wednesday, which of couse means Freshly Made Sketches!   We are all excited because we have a new full-time member as Kim is staying. Yay. Cindy gave us a fabulous sketch and I got this retired set from my fabulous friend Linda, so I was all set to go.   I love these leaves and have kicked myself for not getting them.   I was so excited to finally ink them up.   I don't remember what the designer paper is, but I have like a million sheets of it.  I think I got it at Tuesday morning and didn't realize that the entire pack was the same design.   Luckily it is two-sided, so the yellow is one side, the stripes the other. It matches SU colors pretty well, so maybe I can use up a few more sheets this Fall.

I'll be deliverying this card to a super awesome lady next week.   I don't think I've posted about it, but I finally took the plunge and went to see a counselor.  She has been fabulous about helping me with some unresolved grief and lots of other stuff as well.  I feel much more together lately.   The house is looking great after I made a cleaning schedule, parenting is going better most days, and I convinced Jason he needed a hobby.  He's learning to play the guitar and Laila loves playing her little guitar along with him.   :)   It took a lot to finally go, but I am happy I did.   If you have considered it, do it.   It could change your life or even save it.  That's my PSA for this week I guess.  ;-)

Tuesday is playroom cleaning day, so here's my littler helper enjoying the clean room.   She unloaded all the non-glass items from the dishwasher and helped me vacuum.    :o)   That and her saying she loved me big bunches totally made my day yesterday.

10 Minute Card?

Here's my last card from the Winnie & Walter Share the Love challenges.   This one was for the 10 Minute Dash challenge to make a card in 10 minutes or less.  Wow!   I think I went a few seconds over trying to tie my baker's twine, but I was close!   I made this for a special friend who hoards this Chatterbox paper just like I do.    I hope she realizes how dear she is to me when she sees I cut up a piece of it to make a card for her.  :-P

Jason has been learning to play the guitar, so Laila likes to get her guitar and go play along with him.  It's so stinking cute to watch her jam along with him.  She loves music almost as much as she loves books, so I think we'll definitely be trying piano lessons once she's older.  She's awake now, so I'll jump off here and go get my hugs!  (and then coffee!)  Have a great week!

Hello Friend

Here's another card I made for the Winnie &Walter Share the Love challenges.  I also want to enter it at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.   I used the new Simon Says Stamp card kit because I can't get enough of those books!   Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, and a bit of Crumb Cake and black seemed like a perfect color combination for a clean but vintage card.   :)   This one is already in the mail to a very dear friend that I miss a lot right now.

I loved this sketch and hope to use it again.   It's great if you have any large sentiments!

I think I'm going to buy these.  Candy corn is my absolute favorite Halloween thing.  My mom is making Laila a dress with candy corn colors and I am hoping to make a candy corn banner to hang up.   The actual candy is pretty good too, especially with peanuts. :)

I had a few more of this cute bird digital image from Newton's Nook printed out, so I decided to play along with the new Inky Paws challenge.  I did have to flip the sketch a bit, so I hope that was okay.  I REALLY hope to get some of their stamps for my birthday, but until then I can enjoy this cute bird.  :)

I just love Jason for getting me Copic markers for Mother's Day.  I enjoy them so much.   I am still learning how to use them, but it's fun to play around with them.  Here I used Tangerine Tango and Bermuda Bay and tried to match up the markers with them.

Someone is ready for basketball season.  :-)    My dad raised us to be big sports fans, so I hope Laila will love college basketball and NFL football as much as I do.   Right now she's all into the new cat piano we got at Target today with some of her birthday money.   lol    I was pretty happy with my pumpkin spice latte as well.   Yum!   Now if we can get the Fall weather to go along with it!
