Stampin' Up! Starburst Sayings

I had a little time last night to play along with a couple challenges.  This card uses the awesome sketch from MFT along with the fun colors at colourQ this week.  It's a bit of a different card for me, but I love it!  It's good to work outside our comfort zone sometimes.  :)

I love Lucky Limeade, but I'm not sure I've used it since it retired.  Sad!  I was happy to put it out and to search for a sheet of Going Gray.   I started to use Smoky Slate, but I really love the darker color and especially the textured paper!

Laila is an expert at spotting airplanes!   :)   She can also spot the moon as soon as it peeks out.  It's been some beautiful, yet windy weather here this week.  We've been out playing quite a bit.

Stenciled Butterfly

Two posts in one day.  Wowzers.  If you are looking for my 'Tis the Season card, you can scroll down or find it here.  This care was another one I made for the Stenciled class at Online Card Classes.  I really love how much I've learned!  They are doing a one layer card class next and I think I might sign up for that one as well.  I sure need help with those.  This one used embossing paste.  I love that stuff after using it just once.  I hope I find time to make another card with it later today.  :)

We had her 18 month check up today (a month late) and she was 33 inches tall and 25 pounds, 5 ounces.  She's getting so big!   It's a bit scary.  She woke up crying in the night again last night, so I don't know what's going on there.   I hope it's a short-lived thing as we don't function well without sleep.  I don't know how we survived the newborn stages on so little rest.  I guess it's what you get used to...and now I'm used to sleep!  lol

Stampin' Up! Gently Falling

It's a new week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Jen B, who is seriously HILARIOUS, is our sketch designer and hostess this week.  I admit to being a bit perplexed by her sketch when I saw it, but I really enjoyed working with it when I sat down to make my card.  I think the entire design team rocked it out this week!  Be sure you go by the blog and check them out.

For my card I decided to use some of the Sweater Weather DSP.  I haven't used nearly enough of it and we are already hitting 38 degree nights here in Texas.  That means red and green will be dominating soon and I need to enjoy the fall colors before it's too late!  I paired the paper with some leaves from Gently Falling, a greeting from Banner Greetings (hostess), and a bit of woodgrain embossing.  I think it turned out nice.  :)  Jason keeps telling me I am always too hard on myself and never have confidence, so I'm trying to change that up by actually admitting that I do like some cards I make.  lol

Stamps:  Gently Falling, Banner Greetings
Ink:  Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla, Sweater Weather DSP
Accessories:  Neutrals buttons (retired), Linen Thread
Tools:  Big Shot, Woodgrain TIEF

Cats and kids love the same "toys."  Laila took the box away from Bandit and got comfy.  :)

Posting through exhaustion...

Dudes... I'm tired!   Now that Jason is working an extra day each week I feel like there's no breaks.  It's go go go and go some more.   I think being busy keeps me from being so down, but man, I'm worn out.  I did managed to stamp some yesterday and today, so I thought I'd share my cards.  This card was for Lydia's Sending Flowers challenge to make a card with flowers.  I used my favorite flower set, Too Kind.  I love the Raspberry Ripple on Crumb Cake!

This card is for Kittie's challenge to create a scene.  I tried to make it look like a framed scene, but eh...  not so much.  I'm just happy to have made a card.  I'm struggling with the challenges this year.

I have one more, but I'll share it tomorrow.  I'm ready for bed!  :)

Someone got to see a real live sheep this week!

Double the Dirty!

Still doing a few of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges on Splitcoast.  They have some really fun ones so far!   I know I won't get to do them all, but it's fun to see how many I can get done.   I'm trying to use some of my retired stuff as I really have so much.  I keep thinking I want to order some new stuff but seriously?!  I could stamp for the rest of my life and only need cardstock and maybe some ink refills.   Hello addiction!

For this card I used a favorite set, Perfectly Preserved.  I still can't believe it retired!  It's like the cutest set ever!  :-(

Blooming with Kindness and Too Kind

I know... YUCK!  I am struggling you guys!  Majorly struggling.  I sat down today with my bottle of gesso that I hadn't used and tried to do something with it.  It didn't go so well as you can see.   I probably shouldn't even post this, but I think we need to share our good and bad.   I can already see a million things I could do differently, so maybe when my heart is back into stamping I can try again.

With the leftover piece and some scraps from around my room, I did put together this 4.25 inch square cards and I like it a bit better.  It's super simple and kinda cute I guess.  I just wish I'd stamped the sentiment AFTER I put it together as it looks crooked and is driving me nuts now.

I hope you are having a better crafty weekend!

Another picture from Laila's mall photo shoot.  I'm pretty sure she was crawling away yet again when they snapped it. lol
