Freshly Made Sketches 275

Happy Discounted Chocolate Day!  :)   I managed to get myself together this week to play along with my amazing ladies at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our Queen of Layers, Narelle, is the hostess this week.  Her card is awesome and layered, so be sure you go check it out.  :)   The rest of the team made some pretty amazing cards too.  I'm a bit in awe of their creativity this week!

Do you have some of those stamp sets that you got because it was cute, but then it was hard to use?  And you almost never used it?  Yeah, that was this set from Stampin' Up! called Crazy Mixed-Up Love for me. I challenged myself to use it this week and I did it!  Yay!  I managed to find a stamp and embossing folder that helped shed some light on things.  lol

Laila was so excited about Valentine's Day.  It's probably my second least favorite holiday, with Christmas being first, but I tried to make it fun for her today.  Jason worked, so I took Laila to dinner as my valentine.  She loved her little gifts and flowers, so it was a nice day for us both.  Jason got me roses and a fancy coffee grinder.  I love how yummy the coffee smells when it's freshly ground.  I hope your day was nice as well.

Stampin' Up! Crazy Mixed-Up Love

I didn't share (or I don't think I did?) the second project we made a club last month.  It's super simple, but I love this layout and how cute the cards are with it.  Once you pick your pack of designer paper to use, the rest is easy!   It's a great way to show how the papers work together to make awesome projects!  I used the Epic Day DSP here and pulled from the colors of the paper for the rest of the card.  Easy, peasy!

Stamps:  Crazy Mixed-Up Love
Ink:  Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray Markers
Paper:  Gumball Green, Gumball Green Coredinations, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Whisper White
Tools: Big Shot, Honeycomb TIEF

Laila was a bit overwhelmed with Christmas and just wanted to play with what she opened instead of opening more.  Nothing wrong with that for sure.  I hope we can do a more simple holiday next year.  Baking for our local fire department and picking out a gift for the child we picked from the angel tree was was more fun than the stress of shopping for each other and wrapping.

Stampin' Up! Crazy Mixed-up Love

Time for a new Freshly Made Sketch.   Our hostess this week is Jen Mitchell.  I'm a big fan of Jen's and she's inspired me so much.  I now try the occasional clean-and-simple card with lots of white space because of her.  :)  I didn't manage it this time, but I did keep it pretty simple.

Stamps:  Crazy, Mixed-Up Love
Ink: Basic Gray, Real Red
Paper:  Real Red, Brights DSP stack, Whisper White
Accessories:  Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Neutrals and Brights buttons (retired), Baker's Twine

Laila really enjoys the Fisher Price games or Dr. Seuss books on our iPhones.  She does not enjoy when they end and she has to give them back.

Crazy Mixed Up Light Bulb

I wanted to play along with the sketch at Create with Connie and Mary this week but Jason got called out to work today and my stamping time was limited to naps.   Of course that meant that Laila took short naps.  ;)   I did run in and stamp once he got home and here's what I came up with.  I just had to have this stamp set and I love funny and cute stamps!
