Ruff Day?

Just a quick post, but I wanted to share the Hope You Can Cling To card that I managed to put together yesterday during Laila's nap.    It is for Tammie's challenge:  make a project to support someone that may be having a "ruff" day. Your project must have a dog on it. Although it is not a requirement to include pink, it would be great if you could work it in!

Stamps:  Friends Fur-ever
Ink:  Staz On black, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray
Paper:  Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, Chevron embossing folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, blender pen, Not Quite Navy 3/8 taffeta ribbon

This is a picture from our trip out to feed the ducks earlier in the week.  We checked to see if Laila was enjoying looking at them and well, she obviously wasn't.  LOL

Have a great weekend!

colourQ #102

I'm a little behind on my challenges this week, but I wanted to try to squeeze in a few before the deadlines.   I found this color combination from colourQ an interesting one.   I wasn't sure what I wanted to with them, but I went in and pulled out card stock in all the colors and then glanced over my stamp sets for something that I thought would go with them.   I had wanted to make Kathy a birthday card using Friends Fur-ever, but with all the construction in the house this past week, I couldn't think enough to put anything together.   I know she likes the set and it isn't available in Australia, so I decided to make a friendship card for her today.   I need to get her cards in the mail before I end up with a whole box of them to send over!  :)

What do you think?   I thought it was kind of cute.   I love those little dogs and they are adorable when you do paper piecing with them!   I'm not sure about my ribbon treatment, but I hope it looks okay.   :)

Stamps:  Friends Fur-ever
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz (I didn't have any Certainly Celery ink!), Temping Turquoise, Basic Gray, Poppy Parade
Paper:  Basic Gray, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Neutrals DSP stack
Accessories/Tools:  1 1/4 Certainly Celery Grosgain ribbon, basic rhinestones, white baker's twine, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder

Keeping it Simple

Since I've been a little tired today (and Kentucky plays in the NCAA tournament tonight), I decided to keep it simple and focus on a technique tonight. I used the Stampin' Up! markers and my Aquapainter to color in this adorable dog. I wanted it to stand as the focal point for my card, so I left the rest very simple. It is also flat enough to mail easily!  Inspired by Ilina's card.

Stamps: Friends Fur-ever, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red, Crumb Cake, Old Olive
Paper: Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Real Red, watercolor paper
Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Aquapainter
