Toilet Paper Troubles

So I made a couple cards that go along with all we are going through with this pandemic. I did edit this one as to not offend anyone. I thought toilet paper was a perfect stamp for the times. Thankfully we had been to Costco before all this started and were stocked up, but man! I haven't seen a roll of it on the store shelves in ages. Where is it all??  That, flour, and yeast seem to be impossible to find right now in my area. What's been the most difficult where you are?

Anyway, a friend gifted me this set from Unity a while back and I hadn't inked it up. I might have squealed when I found it in my stash last week. :) I'm hoping the friend I sent it to enjoys it and manages a laugh. I know she's a bit stressed.

I'm off to figure out what to make for dinner. I feel like all I do is cook, empty and fill the dishwasher, laundry, and visit my backyard. It's like that over and over all day. I guess it's time to start the cycle again today. I'll leave you with a skink I found in the yard. I love these guys but they keep scaring me to death.

Freshly Made Sketches 295

On a roll!  Scary, huh?  :)  I had some free time since Jason was off for the holiday, so I thought I'd try to play with my pals at Freshly Made Sketches.  I loved Narelle's sketch and it paired perfectly with Unity's Be Inspired challenge on Facebook which was hearts and polka dots.  I got this little stamp to use for Laila, so this will be for her.  She's already asked for it of course. :)

I hope all my American friends had a nice holiday.  We didn't do much, but sometimes that's nice.  Any day that includes a s'more is a good day in my book.  Now come on over and play along with us!

Freshly Made Sketches 288

Back with a new card.  I treated myself to a new sunflower stamp last week and wanted to use it.  It was so fun to color!  I used it for this week's new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  My card deviates from it some, but it was closer to begin with.  The yellow polka dot paper was on crooked so I tore the original apart and redid it.  I somehow ended up shifting the image more towards the middle, so...  Jen M., our hostess, says I'm forgiven, so I went ahead and posted it.

It's been a long day, so I'm headed to bed.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  Laila and I have had a few nature walks, so we've enjoyed the outdoors.  The snakes not so much, but the rest was fun.  :)

Dare to Get Dirty 2015

After a huge case of the blahs and major anxiety this week, I finally managed to make a few cards!  I am going to share the first two I made for the new Dare to Get Dirty challenges on Splitcoast.   If you are a member of the Fan Club over there go check them out!  It's a ton of challenges in one week, so I know I probably won't even get close to finishing them.   They did get me out of the funk of the week and start this month off stamping, so that's fabulous!

This card was super fun to make.  Laila talked me into buying this mermaid stamp last week and I have to say, it's scary!!!    I am definitely not an expert at coloring people and she's a super hard one to do.   I think a little girl will love this one though.  :)   It's for Lydia's first challenge.

Stamps:  Penny Black Mimi the Mermaid, Altenew Super Script,MFT Polka Dot background
Ink:  Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, Copics, SU Bermuda Bay
Paper:  Neenah Solar White
Tools:  Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle dies, Simon Says Stamp Medium Dot die, MFT Blueprints 20
Embellishments:  Stampin' Up! Brights Collection Buttons, SU White Baker's Twine, Pretty Pink Posh and SSS sequins

My second card is for Teresa's challenge.   I had so much fun with this one!  I love making these backgrounds!

Stamps:  Unity
Ink:  Lots of Tim Holtz distress inks, MFT Black Licorice
Paper:  SU Elegant Eggplant, Neenah Solar White
Tools:  Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle dies
Embellishments:  Studio Calico Wood Veneers Stars, Heidi Swapp Color Shine Tinsel, water

I have a few more in the works, including a Two Papers Divas card for this week and I'm off to finish those up.  It maybe be later tomorrow before you see those as the good lighting is gone for the day and we have plans for early tomorrow.   Stay tuned though!

Crazy for Freshly Made Sketches

I've had this crazy bird colored and on my desk for a while now.  The past few days have been horrible (crying parents, crying Laila), so I took advantage of having an image already ready to make a quick card for Freshly Made Sketches this week.   Cindy H is our hostess with the mostest this week and she dared tilt something.  I'm just sure it was on purpose to drive me crazy.  lol   Just kidding, Cindy!  I love you!

I wanted my bird to be in party mode, so I quickly drew a hat and colored it with my Copics.  I hope it doesn't look too awful as I am totally NOT an artist.  Don't you just love the expression on his face?   He can't believe you are 29...AGAIN!    Ha!

Ink:  Memento Black, Stampin' Up! Real Red, Copic Markers
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, Stampin' Up! Epic Day
Embellishments:  Misc Sequins, Studio Calico Wood Veneers Stars, Stampin' Up! Linen Thread

She got very excited yesterday about drawing caterpillars.  lol   She just kept drawing them over and over!   She cracks me up when she's not making me crazy!

Double the Pink

I feel like I haven't posted in ages.  It has been such a crappy week that I haven't really had much to post.   I did make a couple cards on Thursday when I went to stamp with some friends, so I'll share those with you today.   This is a card for Misti's HYCCT challenge to use something sugary with the always optional pink.

This one is for Kathy's Laughter is the Best Medicine challenge to make a funny card.  ;)

We are trying to plan out a reading corner in Laila's bedroom, so we did a bit of chair testing yesterday to see if she liked rocking or if she liked one with an ottoman.   I need to try a bean bag next before we decide.  Hopefully this week will be better and I can get some stamping done.   October is the start of my rough period missing Eli, so we'll see.   It's always difficult to get through the holidays.  Adding in the toddler in the middle of some major terrible twos and whew.   I bought ice cream AND chocolate at the store today.

Retro Underwear?

My dear friend Anne Marie sent me this stamp set (as a joke I believe), but I thought it was hilarious!!!  I had to ink it up today with the current sketch at Retro Sketches.   It is totally cracking me up!!!   Mondays always need some humor (and a lot of coffee), so it was the perfect card for the day!

Isn't that a fun sketch?  I used some manly colors, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, and Crumb Cake.  I thought a card with men's drawers on it needed manly colors.  Ha!

Speaking of change...  someone needs one again!   Goodness.   Here's how she reads the Sunday paper.  lol
