Yellow Butterfly

It's me again! :) I have been trying to craft a bit this weekend and made this butterfly card with a much neglected stamp. I bought this butterfly stamp and it's HUGE. I wasn't sure how to use it, but I attempted a card with it and I think it turned out okay. Yay.

I want to enter it in the Modsquad challenge blog as their theme of butterflies inspired me to finally ink up the stamp!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. The weather in my part of Texas has been beautiful.

Crafty hugs.

Rainbow Butterflies

Hi! Sorry it's been so long. Do rainbow butterflies make up for a long absence? lol I saw the challenge at As You Like It and it has two of my favorites as choices, rainbow or monochromatic. I chose rainbow because I need the hope right now, plus I love all things rainbow. Who doesn't love bright, fun colors? I used a butterfly set from Avery Elle and colored them twice so that I could layer them. Super fun.

This is Laila getting ready for school...or not. lol  She's been having a tough week. She is moving to a different school after Thanksgiving and I think she's having a hard time with the idea. She loves her teacher so much. She just can't keep it together in a normal classroom, so we are trying a small, behavior classroom before we give up on public school. We are at a loss on how to help her and it's been a very emotional time for us all.

Now I'm off to take down all the Halloween decorations and put up some leaves. lol Just a little behind.

Cupcake Inspired Bella

Hello!! I managed to make a card this weekend and wanted to post it before I forget. I loved the challenge at Cupcake Inspiration and wanted to play. I thought it would be fun to use one of the Stamping Bella butterfly girls with it. I think it turned out kinda cute. I just got the new Stampin' Up! catalog and LOVED one of the samples on page 97. I used the layout as a bit of inspiration. :) I also bought some retired sets this week, so I want to ink those up soon too.

How's your Father's Day going? It's been rainy here, but we've had a decent day. I've been trying to do some cleaning and we've spoiled Jason with some cookies, breakfast, dinner, and some little gifts. He seems a bit down today. These holidays are hard when you've not only lost a child, but also your dad. My dad is pretty sick lately, so it's been a bit of an emotional day for me. I'm going to see him soon and I'm scared. Keep him and my mom in your thoughts. He's back of the hospital today, so we're happy for some improvement.

Stamping Bella Bess the Butterfly

Hello! It's been almost a month. How did that happen???  It's been a crazy busy month, so I haven't been stamping much. I started a new medication to try and get my depression/PMDD under control and it was wiping me out. I don't know why they told me to take it in the mornings, but now that I'm taking it at night it's okay. Whew! Our school issues with Laila continue and that's been rough. We have a second ARD review on Wednesday, so send good thoughts. I think we are going to end up having to homeschool, but Jason isn't ready to pull the trigger on that yet. Add in the death of a cat, a cat catching our resident cardinal, and my dad being sick and it's been a month. A very long month.  Now we just need to get Laila through her ear infection and get a plan for school and cross our fingers for a better May.

I hope you are having a better time. Our butterfly season is off to a small start, so I'm excited about that. We've been helping the school with their butterfly garden as well. That has motivated me to color up some of these adorable Stamping Bella stamps. I love them and I kinda want the other two in the series. lol

Have a great Monday! I'm off to try and clean off my desk and get ready to try and stamp some tomorrow before I volunteer at the book fair for a bit. Laila's class gets to shop tomorrow, so I am going to go shop with her as well. She only wants every book in the flyer except for one. Ha!!

MFT Card Challenges 359

I stamped something! Yay! I finally took a little break and came in to my room to try and make something over the weekend. I am having a rough time with it, but I did a little coloring and made this card. It's for the current sketch at MFT Card Challenges.  I love these cute little bee and butterflies from the set.

I've still been reading a lot. I joined Book of the Month and got my first two books in, one being the Sleeping Beauties from Stephen and Owen King. I'm hooked, but it's a long one! Laila isn't feeling that great, so we'll see how much reading I get to do while she's off this week. She has a little bit of a fever tonight, so I don't know what we are in for.  She was feeling a little better earlier today, so we went to a local nursery to look for some plants for the school garden. The gardening club is starting next week and we are going to try it. Fingers crossed!

One of the sweet ladies I met at Lydia's retreat sent us this book. It came today, so we were able to curl up and read it. It's so neat! One of the ladies she went to high school with wrote it, so we got our very own autographed copy. I thought that was just the sweetest thing. I'm sure we will read it a bunch since that's our hobby. :)

I'm off to figure out what medicine to give her before bed. I hope you are having a good start to the Thanksgiving week.

Hugs

Falliday Monarchs

I thought I'd share another card that I made using a technique from the Online Card Classes Merry Making class. Again, not a holiday card. lol I just can't get in the mood. I have struggled with all the October, November, and December holidays since we lost Eli and Christmas is the worst of those. I dread it, so I'm just using what we are learning to make things that make me happy. I will eventually use the techniques from some winter cards, but I'm just not there yet. I also made this for one of the Splitcoast Falliday Fest challenges. We were asked to make a general or kind card and mail it to a random person that we don't know.  You know I love my Monarchs, so I thought I might try to find the address for a random person in one of my Monarch groups. :) I think they'd appreciate receiving it. The stamp and sentiment are from Inspired by Stamping.

This cutie had an awesome day at school today! I read an article on Friday that really spoke to me, so I messaged her teacher this weekend and we agreed to try out some ideas from it. She had her best day so far!  I am hoping that maybe what we put in place will help, so keep your fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for us. Maybe even your arms and legs. We need good days!  She was so happy and proud and so was I.

Now I'm off to bed. Little Lady is on a mission to destroy my stamp room and I'm tired of fighting with her.  Have a great Tuesday!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Spring Hop 2017

Hey strangers! It's been a bit. I've decided to take up gardening I guess, so I've been digging and planting.  We extended our butterfly garden and I've been potting plants that feed and attract them as well.  Fun, but work!  I did want to join in with the blog hop as I LOVE coffee.  I'm not even sure I'd survive the day without it.

Have you tried the new Distress Oxide inks?  Oh man are they awesome.  I had a blast making my background.  They are so fun, so I'd recommend trying them out.  I thought these colors would be fun for spring.  I had to include a butterfly as well.  :)

Here's our garden. It's waiting on the plants to grown and bloom and the butterflies to come visit.  I have more seeds started, so we'll see if I can get more milkweed for my Monarchs.

Have a happy week.
