Stampin' Up! Love & Care

It's Thursday (it is, right?  I get my days mixed up with Jason's schedule change now.) so I thought I'd share another card made with older products.  I love this stamp set so much and it's one I'll never part with.  The flower is just gorgeous and I love the font on the sentiments.  As a big fan of purple, I also love this designer paper!  Together they can make a very simple, lovely card.

Laila is all dressed up and ready for the library.  I'm cutting this short so we can head out.  I hope we find some good books and she has fun with the other kids!

Freshly Made Flowers

Time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  My clean-and-simple hero Jen M is the sketch designer this week and I love what she challenged us with.   I don't have a lot of time to stamp anything other than the display stamper samples, so an easy sketch was exactly what I needed this week.   (I'm halfway done with those samples, so hopefully I can finish up soon and get back to fun stamping!)

I grabbed my favorite color combination and a favorite stamp set and I think I made this one pretty fast!  I will sure miss Lucky Limeade.  It is such a pretty green and I want to keep it!   Well, I WILL keep it, but I mean all official and stuff, like current.   ;)   I made this for Mom.  I know she had a rough weekend missing Granny so I thought I'd send a little note her way.

Stamps:  Love & Care (retired)
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Paper:  Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, In Colors DSP stack
Accessories:  Basic Pearls
Tools: Scallop Edge border punch

Less than a month now until she's a year old. I can't believe it!!!   She's currently obsessed with the kitties and has started saying kitty.   They are having to run and hide because she is getting fast at crawling and chasing them!

One funny story and I'll sign off for the day.   Jason was watching TV while I played on the computer a bit before bed last night.  I was on eBay and I guess talking out loud because he laughed when I said I'd buy this  stamp set if we ever win the lottery.    I guess it does seem silly to think you'd have to win millions to afford stamps, right?  lol  If anyone ever does see Branch Out at a good price, be sure to let me know.  ;)   Until that happens, I'll be holding out for the lotto money to get it.

Freshly Made Butterflies

It's Wednesday which means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Linda S designed this fun sketch; I love the banner and sentiment layer.  I wasn't sure I was going to get a card made this week, but I found that I *needed* to stamp yesterday to get my mind off things.   I decided to make a card for my mom.   I want to thank all of you who responded to my post yesterday and asked for her address.  I am happy she'll be getting so many cards in the mail soon.

I was in a purple mood for some reason yesterday.  I used Wisteria Wonder; aren't we all glad it's sticking around?  I wish Concord Crush had replaced Elegant Eggplant, but I didn't get my way with that one either. I'm still missing that color.  I was in a retired stamp set mood I guess so all the stamping is from sets that were just gathering dust.

Stamps:  Butterfly Prints, Love & Care
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder
Paper:  Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, 2011-2013 In Colors stack, Whisper White
Accessories: Basic Pearls
Tools: Butterfly Punch (retired)

I love this picture.  It was Laila's first time meeting her and she was so content to just sit in granny's lap and look at her.

colourQ meets Paper Players!

Well, after waking up at 4am this morning, I decided I should try to go stamp for a bit. I actually finished 3 cards and had a nice time stamping just for fun.   With pregnancy, two design teams, and club/class cards, I don't often find time to do challenges or make a card just because I feel like it.   I definitely need to get back to that; it was relaxing and just plain old fun today!   My first card combines two challenges, the gorgeous colors of colourQ and the fun polka dots of the Paper Players.
I hope a different fold will still count as clean-and-simple.  I kept it pretty simple other than that I think?    I really LOVE this color combination.   I'll definitely have to add that picture to my color inspiration board on Pinterest; I want to sure it again for sure!   I used a retired hostess set that I LOVE along with Fabulous Phrases.   I'm a bit bummed that the Scallop Circle #2 die is retiring as I use it a lot, but I'll hang on to it and sneak it in every now and then.  :)

Stamps:  Love & Care, Fabulous Phrases
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Basic Gray, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Neutrals DSP stack
Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, Scallop Circles #2 die, 3-inch circle die, Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon

FMS30: A Cheerful Treat

Tui has a very fun sketch for everyone this week at Freshly Made Sketches!   I love it, but I had a horrible time deciding on which stamp set to use.  I've been trying to give my neglected sets a bit of love, so I ended up going with a retired hostess set, Love & Care.  This was one of those sets that I had to put in a last minute order to get before it retired.  :)   I haven't used it nearly enough, but I do love it.
In addition to neglected sets, I've been trying REALLY hard to use up some of my designer paper that will be retiring next month.   I really love the Cheerful Treat designer paper that is in the hostess section of the current catalog.   It's so bright and fun!    I used it last week for my Friday Mashup card and decided to pull it out for this one as well.  I also used my new stamp set that I chose for winning Shellie's challenge, Fabulous Phrases!

I hope you'll check out the other gorgeous creations from the designer team and our fabulous guest designers!

On a side note, I found out last week that I did pass that awful glucose tolerance test!  Unfortunately though, I'm anemic.  :(  I hope that explains the extreme tiredness and shortness of breath that I've been dealing with.   I'm taking iron supplements now (which brings a whole other set of issues!) and crossing my fingers for some energy and mojo to return soon!

colourQ 111, PPC41

I finally managed to clear off my desk and stamp today!    Yay!   My sweet friend Lesley is a guest designer this week over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, so I decided to try their sketch with the awesome colors from colourQ this week.  I thought they worked very well together and I love how my card turned out.  I have been on a mission to make sure all my stamps are feeling loved, so today I used a retired set from the Summer Mini that I hadn't inked up yet.    Now I'm sure you've never done this, but I thought I'd share how silly I am sometimes.  I loved this set, but never had an order large enough to earn it.   The day before the catalog expired I totally panicked at the idea of never owning it and put in an order to get it.   It has sat unloved since I got it, so I don't know what I was thinking!  :)
