FMS107: Stampin' Up! Halloween

I went simple this week for my Freshly Made Sketches card.  I had a busy day yesterday and limited craft...that means a simple card must do.  :)   I had a totally different idea in mind when I sat down to stamp, but a last minute idea led to this.   Maybe it was seeing the signs that the pumpkin patch is almost ready to open?!  Our fun sketch this week was created by one of our amazing leaders, Jen T.

Stamps:  Toxic Treats (retired)
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Tools:  Big Shot, Spider Web EF (retired), XL Oval punch, Little Leaves sizzlit

Scrap Card Sunday continues...

Sunday scrap card!  Woo hoo!  I managed to keep up my streak.  :)   For this week, I used some longer scraps ( at least 6 inches) and the bargello technique.  Have you tried it?   You should give it a go as it's kinda fun.  Splitcoast has a tutorial here that makes it pretty easy to figure out.

Stamps:  Toxic Treats (retired)
Paper:  Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, scraps
Accessories:  Basic Black satin ribbon (retired)
Tools:  Big Shot, Labels collection framelits, brayer

My niece had her birthday party at the beach yesterday, so we made the almost two hour journey down there to celebrate with her.  It was Laila's first trip to the ocean and she had fun in the water.   Riding in the car for that long was a whole other matter, but we made it there and back.

Halloween? Oh Yeah!

My last workshop order came in this week and I had ordered myself a little treat, the square framelits.  I love the Polaroid look that I've been seeing and wanted to try my hand at it!   I thought the sketch at Fab Friday was just perfect for that.   The colors at colourQ caught my eye right before I went in my room to work, so I ended up combining the two for my card.   I know I've seen a few comments about my mojo appearing to be intact, but if you'd been here to see the level of frustration and upset that comes with most of my cards lately, you'd get it.  This one wasn't like that, so maybe I've crossed a hurdle!  It came together easily and I ENJOYED making it.  Nice change for sure.

We were very sad to say goodbye to Mom today.  I'm sure you can tell she was just as sad to be leaving her grandbaby.   I hope to see her and my dad later this year.  Thank goodness we have Skype to keep us in contact until then.

Dynamic Halloween

Woo Hoo!  I feel like I never have much time for stamping outside of my design teams and club/class cards, so today I took a bit and made a card that wasn't for either.  I love Dynamic Duos and really wanted to play with the colors this week.  I just love Lucky Limeade.  I was sad when Pear Pizzazz went away, but I'm happy with the two new greens we got as in colors.

My card is pretty simple but hey, it's a card!  I used an old Mojo Monday sketch and my new Toxic Treats stamp set.  I got it for free this month when one of my friends signed up to be a demonstrator.  I can't wait to get together with her to make the super cool printer's tray that we both received in addition to the stamps.  I did heat emboss the cauldron in black and sponged the edges of the limeade layers just a bit.  It was fun to put together and I like it.  :)

Stamps:  Toxic Treats
Ink:  Versamarker, Lucky Limeade, Basic Gray (sponging)
Paper:  Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White, Neutrals DSP stack, In Colors DSP stack
Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants die, 2 1/2 circle punch, heat tool, black embossing powder, Lucky Limeade baker's twine, sponges

We took Laila to feed/watch the ducks at a local park yesterday.  I think she found them pretty fascinating!
