Scrap Card Sunday!

Is is not THE most non-spooky Halloween card ever?   I used some old Halloween DSP scraps and thought I'd include a Halloween sentiment.  Looking at it now it looks silly!  Oh well, I made a card with my scraps, right?  I can always change the sentiment if I want to; it's one little circle.  If you have some coordinating scraps, give the herringbone technique a try!  Everything except for the card base came from my scrap bags, even the ribbon! :)

Laila has been very interested in letters lately, so I bought some cheap flashcards to work with her on them.   She is picking up on some of them already.  It's amazing what little sponges they are.   She is walking everywhere now and keeping us on our toes.  She has a fever today and is just wanting to snuggle though.  I hope she's not getting sick again.  :(   It's been  a long month here already!

Halloween? Oh Yeah!

My last workshop order came in this week and I had ordered myself a little treat, the square framelits.  I love the Polaroid look that I've been seeing and wanted to try my hand at it!   I thought the sketch at Fab Friday was just perfect for that.   The colors at colourQ caught my eye right before I went in my room to work, so I ended up combining the two for my card.   I know I've seen a few comments about my mojo appearing to be intact, but if you'd been here to see the level of frustration and upset that comes with most of my cards lately, you'd get it.  This one wasn't like that, so maybe I've crossed a hurdle!  It came together easily and I ENJOYED making it.  Nice change for sure.

Stamps:  Toxic Treats (R), Wicked Cool (R)
Ink:  Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Gumball Green
Paper:  Basic Black, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Brights DSP stack (R), Modern Medley DSP, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Halloween Baker's Twine
Tools:  Big Shot, Spider Web embossing folder (R), Little Leaves sizzlit, square framelits, Scallop Trim border punch

We were very sad to say goodbye to Mom today.  I'm sure you can tell she was just as sad to be leaving her grandbaby.   I hope to see her and my dad later this year.  Thank goodness we have Skype to keep us in contact until then.

Fabulous Feline Friday

I finally found time to stamp today just for fun!  Normally I'm working on cards for my design team or club, so it was a nice break just to do whatever I wanted.  I had two challenges that I wanted to play along with, Fab Friday and Black Tie Friday.  I'm a few days late, but since I watch Laila most of the day Thursday through Saturday, it never works out to stamp very much until Sunday.

I pulled out lots of circles for this one!   I used a couple of Halloween designer papers, one current and one retired, a circle for my image, and circles for my sentiment.  Lots and lots of circles.  :)   I think it works well with one of my favorites, Frightening Feline.   I have been in a slump where I don't like my cards, but I think this one is actually okay.   Maybe my mojo will return soon!

Stamps:  Frightening Feline, Wicked Cool
Ink: Staz On black
Paper:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Wicked Fun DSP (retired)
Tools/Accessories:  Circle dies and punches, Color Spritzing tool, retired Black Rhinestone flourish

Since it's football Sunday, I just had to share my little Packer's fan.  :)   We are Texans fans first, but I just love Aaron Rodgers.

Friday Mashup: Halloween

I finally found some time to do a challenge today!   I made my next design team card for Freshly Made Sketches (well, I did two because I didn't love the first one) and then I had a bit of time left to do a challenge card!  I decided to try the challenge at The Friday Mashup and really mash it up and do both Halloween and the colors!

Isn't this fun?   I love the embossed panel and of course my witchy owl.  I couldn't get a good picture where the sentiment didn't look so washed out, so you'll have to use your imagination a bit there.

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Wicked Cool
Ink:  Staz On Black
Paper:  Concord Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White, Brights DSP stack
Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, Spider Web embossing folder, Little Leaves sizzlit, Owl builder punch

Girls Night Out Club Card #2

I wanted to do this fun Halloween with my second group this month, but I forgot to save one of my samples from my previous group.   I made this new version today and changed up a few things.   I don't really like making the same card more than once.  :)   I think that's why swaps make me grumpy.   I hope the ladies in my group will enjoy making this one.   It's such a fun card and not too scary.

Stamps:  Wicked Cool
Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Basic Black
Paper:  Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, Little Leaves sizzlit, Spider Web embossing folder, oval punch, circle punches, Owl builder punch

It's time for club!

Thursday is such an exciting day!  Not only do I get to spend time with some of my great customers, but it is also the first day of the Holiday Mini catalog!  Are you excited??!!   I'm excited to show off some of the new products that Stampin' Up! is featuring in this fun new catalog!

Aren't those score lines lovely?    How exciting is it that in just 2 days, you can order your very own Simply Scored and make this card!?!   Score lines can add so much detail to a card while allowing it to remain flat and easy to stick in the mail with a regular stamp.  I did some sponging and color spritzing on my card to give it a more vintage, distressed look; Nature Walk is such a perfect set to show off that style.

Even though it is still over one hundred degrees every day here in Texas, I think it is time to get started on some ideas for fall and the holidays we have coming up.   I love this card by Connie Babbert and was inspired to make my own pumpkins and ghost.   CUTE!   My husband always comments that I gravitate towards "cute" Halloween things rather than scary ones, but I'm okay with that.  Who doesn't like cute?  :o)

Now for the hard one...  The card is not hard, but coming up with Christmas ideas while wiping sweat from my brow sure was!    If anyone has cooler weather, please send it this way.   Last night I was so excited to see 88 as a high for later this week but it was back up to 92 today.   *sigh*   Between the heat and water restrictions, I think this is the worst summer ever.  Anyway, back to Christmas.   This card shows off yet another new product from the Holiday Mini.  Who doesn't LOVE stockings?!  And did you see the mini jingle bell?   Love, love, LOVE it!   I'm not a big fan of gifts, but I love filling stockings and grabbing mine off the fireplace on Christmas morning to see what goodies Jason has picked out for me.   There's just something about sticking your hand down in there to see what is next!

I hope my club ladies will enjoy making these projects this month.   I do have a few spots open in my clubs, so let me know if you are interested and would like more details.

Halloween!

I thought I'd share my losing Halloween card today.   One of the benefits of being a demonstrator is an awesome monthly magazine called Stampin' Success.   It is filled with great articles and in the back, there's always a monthly contest.   I decided to submit a card last month and the challenge was Halloween.  I didn't win, but I did have fun making my card.   I love the little owl and hope he'll be knocking on my door for some candy.  :)

This is a picture that was in the same folder as my Halloween card.   I'm not the only crafty creature in the house.   While I was away mailing my card to Stampin' Up!, Bandit decided to make himself a tutu.   Isn't it cute?  LOL   The bag was in our bedroom and I found the remaining part of it all the way across the house.  I'm guessing that there was a bit of freaking out once he got it stuck around him.   Silly boy.  He was happy to model it for me, so enjoy the fashion show.

Reorganization and a new project!

I really wanted to get my room more organized, so today we did a run to IKEA and Target and here are a few pictures of my new stuff.   I looked at a lot of stamp rooms online and tried to pick out some of the things that were in my budget right now.   I got this shoe organizer at Target to hang on the door and store my punches in.    It works great and was only $7.99!
Here's my bar and baskets we found at IKEA.   They were very inexpensive and work great for storing the older style punches.   The baskets work wonderfully for ribbon and adhesives.  Now I have a ton of my desk space back!
Below is my old Target shelf that I decided to use to store my stamps and dies.
Finally, here is my project for today.   I borrowed a crimper from my friend Rebecca just so I could try out these cute favors.   I did a few Halloween ones tonight, but they work great for any occasion.

Just a shout out and special thanks to my cousin Kelly for having a great workshop while I was home in Kentucky visiting my folks.   It was such a pleasure to spend some time with her and her great friends.   That's what Stampin' Up! is all about...sharing what we love!

Wicked Sketch Challenge

Another great website for Stampin' Up! ideas is Stampin' Addicts.   This is the sketch from the weekly sketch challenged hosted there.    Below is the card I came up with; what do you think?   I am in a fall/Halloween kind of mood lately and I LOVE the Wicked Cool stamp set and Wicked Fun DSP.  They pair so well together and make it easier to come up with great cards!

Wicked!

After finishing making 27 Christmas cards yesterday, I was ready for a change today.     I pulled out my new Wicked Fun designer paper and hit SplitcoastStampers for a sketch.    I even went out all and did a little distressing on this one; shocking I know!    I can't wait to use some of the other papers in this pack; they are all so fun and well, WICKED!    :)

Stamps:  Wicked Cool
Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Black, and Wicked Fun DSP
Ink:  Basic Black
Accessories:  Rich Razzleberry brads
Tools:  Cutter Kit, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer

Here'a picture of all the great designer paper that is included in the Wicked Fun paper pack.   The Rich Razzleberry with the bats and the Cajun Craze with the circles are both flocked, which will give even more dimension to your projects!
