Pinwheel Wishes

I actually worked on a challenge card this week!  Now I didn't get it photographed in time to enter, but I did make something that I didn't HAVE to.  Nothing fantastic, but it was nice to create just because for a change.   I just love the cute pinwheel sizzlit and haven't used it nearly enough.

I  need to work on finding my love of creating again and I think trying to do challenges again will be a good start.  I'm also thinking if being a demonstrator fits in my current life, so lots and lots to think about.  Maybe my next challenge card I can finish in time to enter.  lol

Stamps:  Wishes Your Way
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Neutrals DSP stack, Polka Dot Parade DSP
Accessories: Black Gingham ribbon (retired), Neutrals Glimmer brads, Brights buttons, White Baker's Twine
Tools:  Big Shot, Pinwheel Sizzlit, Corner Rounder punch

My sweet girl.  We had an absolutely awful day yesterday.  I'm not sure who cried more, me or her.  I don't know what was wrong, but she was just crying and crying. It was very strange as she's normally such a happy baby. I had so much to do to get ready for my stamping event last night and she just was not having it.   I was stressed, she was upset...it was just bad.   We survived though and I'm hoping for a better day today.   I'm not sure I can mentally survive another 12-13 hour day like yesterday!  I love that Jason's home 4 days a week, but on those really long days he's gone I miss having someone to jump in when I need a break .

The Friday Mashup is celebrating a huge milestone today.  100 challenges!  Isn't that exciting?   I was excited to get an email from Holly asking me to join them in celebrating.  After looking through all the previous challenges, I decided to do challenge #52 which was using kites and colorful twine.  I love baker's twine and I do miss using Send Me Soaring.  It's one of my favorite sets ever!

As I was making this I first used white was the background and it was just TOO white.  I tried to color in the sky but it looks pretty awful to say the least.   After a suggestion from my friend Marla, I tried Pool Party and coloring the clouds in and it worked perfectly!   I'm not sure the clouds should have went all the way down to the grass, but that's a whole other issue.  lol  I'm not sure what this card will be, but for now I'm thinking a very unusual graduation card.  :)

Stamps:  Send Me Soaring, Wishes Your Way
Ink:  White Craft, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Paper:  Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, Cloudy Days TIEF, Cat's Pamajas grass die, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, Basic Pearls, Sponge Dauber

I love my cute, silly girl.   The teething has been taking away her laughter and making her fussy, but Tylenol seems to bring her back to her happy self.  I am so ready for these teeth to be in!

Retro Pinwheels

Laila crashed early on me, so I had time to go stamp a bit more before Jason got home from work.  I wanted to finish my pinwheel card for the awesome sketch at Retro Sketches!   It's another clean-and-simple card with lots of white space!

I pulled out my Polka Dot Parade DSP for this one.  I love that paper and haven't used it nearly enough!  I paired it with some glimmer brads to add a bit of sparkle.  :)   The panel behind the pinwheels is embossed with the new Cloudy Day embossing folder.  I wasn't sure about that one at first, but now I sorta like it.  I'm a bit addicted to embossing folders!

We have seriously purchased every kind of teething apparatus on the market and Laila still loves her hands the best.  This was my most expensive folly, Sophie the Giraffe.  She likes to throw it in the floor way more than chewing on it.   She's a bit more interested in looking at her spots lately at least.   ;)

CAS Pinwheel

A new sketch popped up at CAS(E) this sketch and I thought I'd stamp today while Laila was playing on her mat.  She is rolling like crazy, so I had get up and put her back in place a few times. :)  We finally got a card made though!

I kept my card pretty simple with LOTS of white space, a bit of piercing, and a pop of color from the designer paper.  I'm slowly getting used to leaving open space on my cards, but it will always be a challenge!
I really love the pinwheel die and have another card started with it already!  I hope I can find time to finish it today and post it tomorrow.  Stay tuned...

Poor quality picture (sorry), but I thought it was hilarious that she was so happy to be in a box.  I guess it's really true that there's no need to spend money on toys!
