Time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Cindy H at Pretty Impact is our hostess this week and has a great sketch for everyone. I had a few ideas, but chose this one to use the Floral Fusion die that I finally remembered to order. When it is on the retirement list, you can thank me. lol I probably should have used a different idea because I messed this one up three times before I finally got something together. I had to do the 3rd attempt at the kitchen table while Laila colored. Nap time only lasted long enough to screw it up twice. ;)
Isn't that a great sketch? For my second attempt I had it flipped horizontally, but decided to go back to vertical. I think I need to try the horizontal one again when I get a chance. I love sketches that you can easily flip around. I also used the colors at colourQ for my card.
I don't have Cool Caribbean, so I substituted Coastal Cabana. I wasn't sure if it or Pool Party was the closest, so I just picked the one that I came to in the scrap bin first.
Laila and I went shopping yesterday and she found some super cool glasses. We just had to buy them and now she doesn't want to take them off! In other news, she peed in the potty again yesterday. It's only the third time in probably a month, but she's asking to go. I think she just likes to read Martha Stewart Living, but hey, it's a start! Ha!
Very pretty, Rita! I love how you've layered the flowers with different shades of the same color. And Laila's glasses are very fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards and the pics and stories about Laila!
ReplyDeleteLove this color combo. Your card is so clean and pretty. Pool Party is the closest to Cool Caribbean but your combo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of your daughter!
So so beautiful Rita!!! I love everything about this card....the colors, the polka dot paper,flowers...love it!!
ReplyDeleteCAS perfection! I adore floral fusion and I love the subtle shading you did! To use LeAnne's word of the day - this is FABBO!
ReplyDeleteLove the sketch and your take on it -- sometimes the simplest sketches are the hardest for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the glasses -- she looks so cute I probably wouldn't take them off either! Congrats on the potty -- that is one thing about girls -- usually easier than boys!
I thought I recognized that color combo! That is one of my favorite layered flowers! Third time is a charm but I'd love to see what the other two look like!

ReplyDeleteI love this and the vertical is definitely awesome!! Those glasses are so fun that I might need me some. No wonder she doesn't want to take them off!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are lovely! And thank you for showing a card using the Floral Fusion die...I bought it last year and have yet to use it as I thought the 'flowers' would be smaller....but I like what I see so will pull it out and make a pretty card! Love Laila's new sun glasses...you have her to interrupt your card making and I have my cat! But he is not as cute as Laila!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just perfect Rita! I have this die and have used it only once - you've inspired me to get it out and have a play! How cute are those sunnies?
ReplyDeleteThose layered flowers are just so pretty - totally love your card Rita! Thanks for playing along at Colour Q!
