Stampin' Up! Blue Ribbon

How about a bit of a manly card today?!   I used the fun colors from colourQ along with another Dare to Get Dirty challenge to make this one.  I love this club ribbon set and just don't use it nearly enough!  I paired it with Gorgeous Grunge to add some fun distressing.

Aren't those fun colors?   Now I am NOT a Summer Yuckfruit fan and don't own any, but the new honey in color was a nice substitute.

She needed to wear a towel just like mommy.  lol   We had a nice day yesterday.   I braved Target with her and we bought 3 bags of school supplies to donate to our local assistance ministry.   I love school suppplies, so it was such a treat to get to shop for them.

Stampin' Up! Blue Ribbon

I needed the mental break of stamping last night, so I started this card.  It wasn't working out so great, but I finally gave up today and put it together.  It might be a good guy card because I don't think they really pay attention to them anyway!  Ha!  I used a color combination from the awesome Color Coach, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, and Smoky Slate.

I received an email this morning that my blog posts weren't working for those of you who subscribe by email.  I had no idea, but I did try to fix that.  I hope you'll let me know if the new subscription service is working.  I apologize for that.  I knew some bloggers were having issues with Feedburner, but I didn't really think I had anyone subscribing.  Oops!

Love this girl.  She seems to have grown up over the past few weeks.  She understands so much more lately and is becoming a bit more helpful by throwing things away and picking up *some* of her things.  I can't believe she'll be 2 next month.  Time is just flying by too fast.

Tape It and Washi tape for Club

I'm meeting with my club ladies tomorrow night so I thought I'd share the projects we are making.  I decided to focus on Washi tape and the new Tape It set.   This first card is a CASE of a card found in our demonstrator magazine.  It has some great ideas for this set and this was one of them.  I was excited to finally find the time to open My Paper Pumpkin that had been sitting on my desk for months for it.  :)

Stamps:  Tape It, My Paper Pumpkin starter kit stamps
Ink:  Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Linen Thread, Basic Rhinestones
Tools:  XL Oval punch, Decorative Label punch

This second card is the same layout as the top one, just flipped horizontal.  I used the Epic Day Washi Tape and DSP to make this one.  It has a very different look than the first one doesn't it?

Stamps:  Blue Ribbon, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink:  Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral
Paper:  Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Epic Day DSP
Accessories:  Epic Day Washi tape, Basic Rhinestones
Tools:  Scallop circle and circle punches

Laila is officially ONE!   Her party isn't until Sunday, but we tried to make today special for her.   Daddy made her special pancakes for breakfast and then we went to the Houston Children's Museum to play for a bit.  She had lunch out and then presents and a cupcake after dinner.   I hope it was a good day for her.  She was sure worn out!

Red Ribbon Graduation

I thought the sketch at Retro Sketches was super fun this week so I decided to ink up a new set I got last week.

I had to google the colors for our local high school to make this one.  lol  I guess I'll know them better once Laila starts school.  Not growing up here makes me pretty clueless about all that.  I also have to learn about the Texas mum tradition for homecoming.   I am hoping that Laila's not into those because man are they obnoxious!

Stamps:  Blue Ribbon, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink:  Real Red, Pacific Point
Paper: Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Brights DSP stack
Accessories:  Hung Up Cute Clips, Basic Rhinestones
Tools:  Big Shot, Stripes embossing folder

Laila's back to not sleeping through the night.   Her nose started running on Saturday evening and it's been rough since then.  Saturday night Jason held her for half the night and then I did from 1:30 until 6. She was so restless that I was up the entire time.  Thank goodness for iPhones and Candy Crush! I was so tired, so Mother's Day was pretty much cancelled.  We had plans for brunch but a sick baby and tired parents weren't up for getting dressed and going out.   She's slept a little better the past two nights, but not all night.   She doesn't seem to be sick, but is getting a new tooth, so I'm assuming the crazy drooling and runny nose is from that.   I know we are tired and ready for whatever it is go go away!
