MFT Camp Create Delightful Die Cutting

I thought I'd sneak in my card for the last day of Camp Create so that I don't forget to upload it.  This one is for the Delightful Die Cutting.  I wasn't sure I could do this one, but I saw these glasses and thought they might work?  It was fun to make because I LOVE distress inks.  This was Mermaid Lagoon. Love that color!

That makes all five days for me, so yay!  There is a bonus day with an ombre theme, but I'm not sure I'll get to that one. My room is torn apart right now.  I am not even sure what to work on at this point, but I need to pick a starting point and get going again.  

Laila and I made this fancy pinhole camera to watch the eclipse yesterday.  I was skeptical, but it worked great.  One of my neighbors who had the glasses did walk over and let me borrow them for a minute to look.  So cool, huh? 

Off to clean a bit more and then shower and get ready for meet the teacher tonight.  I can't believe it's that time already.  I'm a nervous wreck.  I'm sure that's part of why I can't sleep.  I hope she does okay, but if not, I hope there's a plan to help her.  Getting kicked out of the last school type place we tried has made this so stressful.  We have one more social skills class tomorrow and play therapy on Thursday. I am sad about the social skills class as they do such much that I feel helps. 

MFT Camp Create Background Bonanza

Did you survive Monday and the eclipse?  I did, but man am I tired.  Laila and I made the viewer using a cereal box and I think she enjoyed it. :)  I wanted to share another card for the MFT Camp Create.  This one is for the Background Bonanza.  I love using stencils and this is a newer one in my stash.  I used three colors of distress inks, Candy Apple, Spiced Marmalade, and Mustard Seed.

We had three more butterflies to release today.  Laila loves them and she's always wanting to keep one.  This one stayed with her for a while today. 

I'm off to get some rest.  I have been so tired and fighting a headache all day, so early bedtime it is. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday. 

Dare to Get Dirty Day 1 Continued

I managed to get four cards and a background for the fifth completed yesterday.  I swear it's impossible to stamp without interruptions, so I'm proud that I was able to knock out that many.  Why do husbands need you to come look at stuff when you're busy crafting?  I swear it's ONLY when I'm stamping.  There's nothing that needs looked at any other time.  lol  Crazy! Anyway, I thought this card was kinda fun. The paper seemed to go well with the sentiment.  I kept it black and white to match that. I used the Geek is Chic set from My Favorite Things, as well as their Blueprints 18 that I scored in the retirement sale last week.  It's been on my wishlist for ages, so I had to get it while I could.  :)

This was my card I made after everyone was in bed last night.  It was way too messy to attempt with a kid and kitten constantly invading my room.  I don't usually like heat embossing because I make a mess and it always looks bad.  I think this one turned out okay.  The distress inks distract from any bad embossing. ;)  It's made with the Flora background and Sketch Ranunculus sets from Simon Says Stamp.

I'm off to watch some morning shows and try to do a bit of creating before laundry.  Enjoy your Sunday!

You're Spectacular

I'm a bit late with my Freshly Made Sketches post, but I did make a card!  :)  Jen T. made a fabulous sketch that I had to find time to play along with.  Thankfully my card came together quickly and easily.  I love this fun stamp set and coordinating dies from My Favorite Things.  So much fun, especially for folks like me who wear glasses.

I had a bit of fun with my glasses.  I covered them in Crystal Effects and then sprinkled black glitter on top.  They are sparkly and so cool in person!   I love using black and white sometimes for a card, so I stuck with those and only added a couple rhinestones for some bling.  

Yesterday was one heck of a day.   Laila had Mother's Day Out and I was super excited to have some time alone.   I did for a few hours, but then the school called to tell me she had a seizure and I needed to come quickly.   I got there in time to ride with the ambulance to the ER.  It was a febrile seizure and after testing, we still have no idea what caused her to spike a fever so fast.   The doctor said it was probably viral like the last one she had a couple years ago.   We were up and down all night making sure she was okay and she's her usual self today.   It's funny how fast kids bounce back..and how slow adults are to feel like it's all okay again.   

Double the Challenge with SSS and MFT

I actually managed to play around a little this week and do some challenges!  It seems like it's been forever since I did that and I enjoyed it so much.   This one is for the MFT Card Challenges sketch and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to use a stencil.
