Easter Chicks
Hi all! Just stopping in for a quick share before I head out in this rainy weather get my girl. Today was their 100th day of school, so we'll see how it went. I think they did some things they don't normally do and that doesn't always go over well. We do have our ARD meeting set up for the second week in March to see how her special education evaluation went. Progress...slowly.
Anyway, I pulled out all my Easter stamps and papers this week to try and get myself in a creative mood. I did manage to make this card, so that's good. I need to add some additional lighting to my room though because it's hard to color in there. Weird shadows going on. I guess I'll be shopping later. :) I need some Copic refills anyway, so maybe I can find them at the same place online. Fingers crossed.
I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Birthday Sunflower
It's my first card for 2016! Yay! A special person is having a birthday this week so I wanted to make a special card for her. I love bright, happy sunflowers and I hope it will bring some cheer to her day. I didn't have room for a sentiment, but I added some little tags so that it wasn't totally naked. :)
Stamps: Stampendous Sunflower Ladybug, Stampin' Up! Tiny Tags
Paper: Stampin' Up! Crushed Curry, Stampin' Up! Early Espresso, Neenah Solar White, Stampin' Up! Moonlight DSP
Other: Stampin' Up! Jewelry Tag punch, Stampin' Up! Brights buttons, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Early Espresso Stitched Ribbon

Butterflies on Watercolor
I wanted to share one more Dare to Get Dirty card before the deadline tonight. This is the last card I managed to make for it and it's probably the most special. The first card I made to send to the Strong family just didn't feel right so I didn't send it. I found this stamp on a recent shopping trip and it was so perfect. If you'd like to take a minute to read this post, you can see where I was inspired.
I'm off to get my girl to bed and then relax a bit. My anxiety has been so out of control for a while now and this morning really did me in.
Someone is obsessed with our car. :)

More Hope
I managed to get a few more Hope You Can Cling To cards made. I have eleven more to go to finish them, so I'm working so hard and stamping every spare minute! I hate to not meet my goal, but sometimes life happens. I'll happily send along every how many I do make. :) This one was Joyce's challenge of "Something Missing" and I hope I did it right. I die cut the hope and added a paint sample behind it instead of using the die cut itself.
This card is for Lori's "Warm Fuzzies" challenge. A fuzzy bunny in a tub fits the bill for me. :) I love this image! It was fun to color too.
Finally, this one is for Edna's challenge called "All that Binds Us" and it was to make or mimic a bound book. I used washi tape to make a faux binding and then used my fun book stamps to finish off the card.
On Thursday we left to go on a little vacation to Florida. It ended up being a disaster and we came home early. Laila just cannot sleep in anything except a crib and she was up both nights we stayed. We were just too exhausted to try another night. Last night at home she slept like 13 hours and took a long nap today. No more vacations for a while as we all need our sleep. We did enjoy the beach for a little while on Friday, so it wasn't a total waste.

Hope and Chicks
Wow! I haven't posted since Monday?! It has been that kind of week though. I am so worn out. My mom will be here on Tuesday and we have so much to do to get ready. The guest room became the toy graveyard and it is taking forever to go through it all. I am crossing my fingers (and toes) that Jason drives a large load of stuff to donate tomorrow. Anyway... So all this cleaning/sifting through old things means not a lot of stamping time. I took the week off from Freshly Made Sketches and all I've made are these two cards in this post. The first one was actually started last week, so I have only made one and glued another together. Sad!!!!!! I do have a cute image colored, but that's as far as I've made it. This card was made for Diane's HYCCT challenge to use pink and purple along with two of something. I used two colors and two strands of twine. I found this die at the craft store last week and thought it was so perfect. I am happy to add it to my HYCCT supply bucket.
This is my card for Fran's "chicks stick together" challenge. The stamp is an Easter stamp, but it just seems fun and silly, so I think it can celebrate a lot of things. :)
I've leave you with a bit of humor for the day. Laila tends to copy the cats a lot and play with their toys. Here was today's cat-like activity:
So, so silly.

Fluffles Birthday
Just playing around a little tonight before bed. I really need the break that stamping gives me, so I'm trying to do it as much as I have to chance to now. I have been napping more than usual because of some sleep issues at night, but I'm hoping to kick that habit and start stamping again while Laila naps. Jason is off this week, so I'm getting a little time after dinner to play at least. :) I was playing around with my Copics and some old stamps I found while trying to clean my room. Before I signed up with Stampin' Up! I was totally in love with Fluffles and have a few of the stamps. I enjoyed coloring him tonight, so you might end up seeing more of him. I am such a sucker animals, coffee, and sunshine stamps! I am on the lookout for some pretty sunflower stamps too, so let me know if you are aware of any. There's some out there, but I haven't found just the right one for me yet.
Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight are a super fun color combination for birthdays! Try it!
We took Laila out for Mexican food for her birthday dinner and at the end they came and sang to her. She got to wear the hat too. lol She LOVED it. Our server thought she might cry and be upset, but she was clapping along with them and having a great time! She seems to love the blowing out the candles part of birthdays. Every day she's been clapping and saying Yay! Blow out the candle! Hilarious!
