MFT Wild About You

I am loving my stamp room now that we've moved my desk...and dusted.  lol  I saw the sketch at MFT Card Challenge and this cute stamp and thought hmm...  I love the result.  Mom (with Jason's  help) got me a few new Copics for Christmas and these greens were one of the sets.  So bright and fun!

Stamps:  MFT Cheeta background, MFT Pure Innocence Wild For You
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark
Paper:  SU Crumb Cake, Neenah Solar White, misc green
Other:  MFT Stitched Traditional Tags dies, SU Neutrals buttons, misc baker's twine

Yesterday brought some beautiful weather to Texas.  It was like 80 degrees and amazing. Laila asked to go to one of the local parks, so we packed up some bottles of water and headed out.  It was so nice.  We were even able to go out to lunch after.  My mom leaves Saturday morning and someone is sure going to be sad.

Still doing a few of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges on Splitcoast.  They have some really fun ones so far!   I know I won't get to do them all, but it's fun to see how many I can get done.   I'm trying to use some of my retired stuff as I really have so much.  I keep thinking I want to order some new stuff but seriously?!  I could stamp for the rest of my life and only need cardstock and maybe some ink refills.   Hello addiction!

For this card I used a favorite set, Perfectly Preserved.  I still can't believe it retired!  It's like the cutest set ever!  :-(

Scrap Card Sunday

Hi.  My name is Rita and I'm addicted to keeping way too many scraps of paper.  Is that you, too?   I tried cleaning mine out a bit this past week when card making wasn't working and I realized that I need to use those things up!   I'm going to try to do a card with only scraps (minus the card base) each Sunday for the next 500 years. I'm pretty sure I have enough scraps for that many years, but it might be close.  ;)   Now I won't be putting paper names because I have no idea what they are as they are just in bags by color.

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Wild About You
Ink: So Saffron, Tangerine Tango
Paper:  Early Espresso, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Tools:  Big Shot, Chevron EF, Finishing Touches edgelits, Circles #2 die, Scallop circle punch, 1 3/4 circle punch

Laila had a blast today playing in her pool.   We turned on the bubble machine we bought for her party and she was loving it.   It was so cute.   She spent the evening with Mom while Jason and I had a much needed date.   We were able to go to dinner and catch a movie.  I've been pretty down lately and crying a lot, so getting out and laughing at a movie was good for my mental health.  Now if my stampin' mojo would come back so that I actually enjoy it again...

FMS85: Bermuda Elephant

Time for a new Freshly Made Sketch!  (Uh oh!  I have to correct myself).  Today's sketch is actually by the amazing Narelle; Amy is awesome too but her sketch was last week.  lol It's a fun sketch and you can make such a variety of cards with it.  Be sure to go check out the blog to see all the great creations by the design team.

I just got Bermuda Bay and had to use it.   I didn't get it back when it was out because I really had just gotten into stamping and was clueless.   Now it's going to be back with the new catalog and I'm so excited as I love it.  It looks fabulous paired with Melon Mambo!   I needed a birthday card for a sweet little girl who just turned three, so I made my card for her.  I didn't have any Bermuda Bay dsp, but my awesome stamping buddy Marla suggested stamping on white and making banners with that.  I grabbed an old CTMH set that I had laying around and it worked out pretty good!

Stamps:  Wild about You, Happiest Birthday Wishes, CTMH It's Your Day
Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo
Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Brights DSP stack, Whisper White
Accessories:  Basic Rhinestones, Whisper White 1/4 stitched grosgrain ribbon
Tools:  Scallop Circles #2 die, 3 inch circle die, Itty Bitty Punch Pack

It's been pretty warm these this week so Laila got to go out and play in her little swimming pool.  She wasn't too sure about it just yet though.  :)

FMS37: Wild about My Sketch

It's my turn to host the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  It's my last one before I take a break for maternity leave.  I will miss it, but I am officially TIRED.   These next 5 weeks are going to be long with the temperatures up in the 90s and my feet nowhere to be seen!
For my card I used the awesome colors from the Dynamic Duos challenge again.   I just love them!    I have no idea what occasion you'd use this card for, but I think it's pretty cute. It  sure is heavy though!   I guess I got a little heavier than usual on the number of layers.  I must be channeling my friend Anne Marie the layering queen.  :)

Well if you've been by the FMS blog you know that this week I was blessed with the sweetest surprise from my DT members, the lovely ladies from the Paper Players, and my sweet friend Kathy.   They shocked me and organized a baby blog hop that I was clueless about!    The FMS ladies even made decoy cards to post on our DT blog so that things looked normal!    I'm still surprised and have been crying over their beautiful gesture all morning.  Be sure to go follow the hop and see all the gorgeous creations that they made using my sketch!

FM53: Tic Tac Toe

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using " a Special Fold".
  2. Or Make a project using the " Tic Tac Toe Board".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Special Fold card using Tic Tac Toe".
Here are some links to get your started Criss Cross CardDouble Z FoldJoy Fold Card,Six Fold CardYou can find more Special Folds in the Resource section atSplitcoaststampers.com.

I know exactly what you're thinking!   How fun is this challenge?!   I hope you didn't trip as you were running to your craft room to get started on your project.   :)  So many possibilities for a card that it's hard to pick which squares you want to pick for the "win".    Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards from the design team at The Friday Mashup.
So I went straight down the middle and used the baby theme, ribbon, and bright colors.   I'm a bit obsessed with giraffes right now, so pardon the retired set.  :)    I also wanted to use up some soon-to-retire products, so I pulled out the Cheerful Treat designer paper and the Concord Crush ribbon!   I think it all works together pretty well, huh?   It makes me smile at least.   I didn't even attempt the mashup this week.  I have a bad case of the baby brain and that was just too much thinking for me.

I hope you'll join us for this awesome challenge!

FMS22: Elephant Birthday

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is a fun, yet challenging one.  The design team did a fabulous job showing off some beautiful ways to use it, so be sure you check the blog to see them all.

For my card, I kept things pretty simple.   I am always in need of children's birthday cards at the local shop that sells my cards, so I have been trying to focus on making up some for that.   I pulled out some retired designer paper and my favorite retired stamp set for this one.  It came together pretty quickly and I think it would be just perfect for a little girl.

I hope you'll find time to join us this week!

FMS19: Roar!!

The fabulous Jen Mitchell has a great sketch for everyone this week at Freshly Made Sketches.   I love scallop borders, so I was all ready to jump in and get to stamping!    I hope you'll find some time to join us as well!

I had so much fun making my card.   I used some new products and a new-to-me stamp set.   I have always loved Wild About You and was thrilled when my former demonstrator gave me of box of things with it in there.   I think it is one of my favorite sets ever!   I paired it with my favorite die, Tasteful Trim, and a brand new product that will be available on March 1st, the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate!   I was lucky and won it at the Regional on Saturday!   Exciting, huh?  I hope you can see the scoring on the Baja Breeze card stock.   The Color Coach picked out the colors for me.  I wanted to use Island Indigo since it has been a while.  I love that color and I think I was trying to hoard it a bit.  :)

Be sure to stop by and check out all the fabulous cards by the design team!
