Stampin' Up! Zoo Babies

Time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I'm the hostess this week and I created a simple sketch with a trio of circles.

Stamps:  Zoo Babies, Something to Celebrate (retired)
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo
Paper:  Basic Gray, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Tools:  1 3/4, 1, and 1 1/4 circle punches
For my card I did a very clean-and-simple card with the adorable Zoo Babies set.   I picked a color combination from the Color Coach that looked interesting, grabbed my circle punches, and got down to business.   It's not a great card, which is kinda bad on my hostess week, but my heart just isn't into stamping right now.  It's been a rough week already for me and I want to hide in bed rather than stamp.   Hopefully that will go away and I'll get back to enjoying it.  Just feeling a bit off I guess. Family issues and a little one who refuses naps and bedtime will do that.

Poor girl.  We gave her some treats in her little snack cup and she started shaking it like crazy.  The cats thought she had treats for them so they swarmed her.  She was a bit confused why they were running TO her rather than AWAY from her.  :)

  1. Hang in there, Rita! This too shall pass and I always say -- because something else will come along to take its place...Your baby is just darling. Put your energies into her. Smell her hair, kiss the nape of her neck. Do I sound like I want to be a grandma? Now get out of bed and get back to what you do -- stamp and be mommy! You do have our support. With fondness, Nancy B (I hope I don't sound too forward. Sorry.)

  4. I agree with Nancy - this too shall pass. It did for me - I was off work earlier this year due to depression and anxiety. It is something I have to work on every day, to be happy. I find that getting just a few minutes of sunshine and being outside with nature makes a big difference. Please know that you are not alone in this journey called life. Think of 3 things you are grateful for each day....it helps!

  5. I love this card! It's perfect! I just ordered this stamp set because of you FMS DT ladies!!! Don't worry about stamping...I had to finally allow myself to stamp less and just enjoy the boys (especially since now I have no naps in my house). It was hard but I must say the boys have a happier, less card making mommy!

  7. Very fun card! I love it that the circles aren't the same size -- great way to think outside the box. I love the clean look of this card -- it really lets the cute animals be the stars. Thanks for the fun sketch this week!

  8. Thanks for the great sketch this week, Rita. I love the way you accommodated your animals with the different sized circles. It's okay to take the time to mourn your loss; the wounds are deep. But your life is blessed with your beautiful, healthy daughter. Take joy in the blessing and don't be too hard on yourself.

  9. Sorry my friend for the hard week! But I have to say that I really like this card. It is a mom card...the kind you can give to your friends' kids and it will be cherished. Perfect for where you are this week. Great sketch. :-)

  10. I love how you mixed up the sizes of the circles! Super-cute! There are many phases in our lives, so take a deep breath and do your best to embrace the one you are in now. We sure can't pick the days we "feel it." Best wishes for a strong dose of Mojo! :)
